I love the Tomb Raider games, but since 1996 the games have only made 1.2 billion in revenue, and whilst Lara Croft remains a popular character shes not exactly the household name she once was, unless Amazon manage to make something truly special its going to be a long time until the series is profitable for them.

I recently picked up free versions of the latest iterations on Steam and they are fun too. Tomb Raider is a video game published in 1996 on DOS by SoftKey Multimedia Inc., Eidos Interactive, Inc., Eidos, Inc., Sold Out Sales & Marketing Ltd., Eidos Interactive Limited. It's still a classic and the following episodes are good too. Looking at the Metacritic scores, we find which one is the best. In 2004 I moved to a small village in Oxfordshire and over a garden wall encountered one of the original team who created the game (Hi Nathan if you read this!) and became friends. Tomb Raider is a franchise with games spanning several decades. Playing it here has reminded me how good the original game was (I can't currently play the original CD 'cos it's not compatible with Win10 or even XP which I still have a working laptop of).
I have nearly all of the subsequent adventures and the first one I bought in a collectors edition with a t shirt, deck of cards (still unopened), Mouse mat and a second CD with extra levels and a level builder (I think).
